You may or may not be familiar with the name Pigeonboy, – but you will probably be aware of the work of Pigeonboy, because it is totally rad.
Pigeonboy creates works across various mediums, always using humour in his work to evoke a feeling of childhood nostalgia and playfulness from his audience. He is heavily influenced by skateboard culture and cartoons. We recently collaborated with Pigeonboy to create two custom packaging concepts to launch our Street Laces range and the results speak for themselves.
We interviewed him to find out what makes the man tick.
What did you want to be when you were a kid?
A cartoonist, I was obsessed with cartoons and comics as a kid.
What do you do now and how did you end up there?
Now I'm a freelance illustrator/graphic designer. I guess not too far from my childhood dreams. I studied design once leaving high school and worked for various companies as a designer before moving to Melbourne to focus more on art and illustration.
How would you describe your style of work?
A poor mans Barry Mcgee with an injection of humour.

I can make girls run away in horror from just one look at me.

Life.
When you think of a ‘Maverick’ who comes to mind and because of what traits?
Tom Cruise from Top Gun. Probably because his character's name is Maverick.
What is your favourite creative outlet?
Skateboarding.
Where do you find inspiration?
Saturday morning cartoons.
Favourite colour?
Blue.
What pair of shoes do you wear the most?
Adidas Busenitz Vulcs.
What tunes are you currently blasting and are they any good?
90's techno. Mr Vain. Do you even need to ask if it's any good?
